This Christmas, Sad Puppy Left Wondering Why Santa Couldn’t Save Him From Kill Shelter

As we all enjoyed Christmas with our friends and relatives, two dogs trapped in the San Bernardino City Shelter (SBC) are wondering why Santa forgot about them. Tiny Tim and Candy Candy Cane, as they are both dubbed, cuddled close to one another on the night of Christmas, trying to bundle up from the cold breeze ushering itself in at the SBC. It was a sad development for the two, who in spite of their charm, charisma, and handsome looks, struggle to find a home to call their own.

Tiny Tim and Candy Cane were dumped off at the shelter by an owner who couldn’t care for them any longer and so to rid himself of the responsibility, he dumped them off at the SBC, hoping they could solve his “problem.”

A volunteer who works at the SBC has been following the case of these pups, wrote a heartbreaking observation of the two on Facebook saying,

“Tiny Tim and Candy Cane are barely a year old; Jack Russel Terrier mix haven’t seen much human kindness, caught in a cage. Probably not had much love or touch from humans. I watched staff pet and the tension and fear just went away. There was never growling or biting. It was like they expected to be hurt and when touched their fear went away.”

A Pet Harbor listing for Tiny Tim Reads,

“I am a male, brown and white Jack (Parson) Russell Terrier mix. Shelter staff think I am about 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 16, 2016.”

A Petharbor listing for Candy Cane reads,

“I am a female, black and white Jack (Parson) Russell Terrier mix. Shelter staff think I am about 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 16, 2016.”

If you or someone you know is interested in giving these two the forever family they rightfully deserve, please contact the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter at (909) 384-1304. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we can finally bring these two pups home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
