Mini Pinscher Surrendered to Kill Shelter With Favorite Blanket, Cries Before He Sleeps

For a dog named Quarter, life has taken a turn for the worse. When his heartless owner dumped him along with his mother at the high kill Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, he gave no reasonable explanation. Quarter kept his cool. The 5-year-old pup knew in the back of his mind that his owner would return, and so there was no need to sweat the details.

However, as hours turned into days, Quarter came to the realization that a reunion was not to be. The small, once happy go lucky pup retreated to the familiar site of his little red blanket, tucked himself away in the corner, and began to cry. According to a shelter representative who did the intake, Quarter quite literally cries himself to eat, barely touching his food. Sad indeed.

A Petharbor listing for Quarter reads,

“My name is Quarter and I am described as a male, brown and white Chihuahua – Smooth Coated. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old.”

Quarter, is running out of time, and because he isn’t as excited to greet shelter patrons anymore, he has received no adoption offers. As a result, shelter staff has moved him to the “back,” code for death row, where he is scheduled to be put down within the coming days.

SpeakUP, if you or someone you know is interested in giving Quarter the home he deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5020318.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Quarter a home. We have done it before and can do it again.
