2-Year-Old Shepherd Trapped In Kill Shelter, Wondering Why No One Wants Her
Walking through the Carson Animal Shelter is like walking down a boulevard of broken hopes and dreams. As a human, there is this overriding sense you get where you wish you could have some sort of magical powers to free every animal in that place. However, once that daydream ends, you are left with a sobering reality that the situation at Carson is not only precarious but very real. There is no hope at Carson and I can not emphasize this enough.
Dogs are given just weeks, and sometimes even days to live before they are brought to the back and euthanized. Sadly this happens every day, and one dog who can tell you all about how Carson works is a 2-year-old German shepherd named Miki. Miki is a bundle of joy. Upon meeting her the first time, you are greeted with nothing but kisses, warmness, and unabashed love.
Miki loves everyone and so it comes as a shock to us all why her former owner couldn’t see this in her. Miki, the dog who used to play in a field and enjoy doggie biscuits without a care in the world, now makes a cold plastic cot as the only solace for the tears she cries. A shelter is no place for a German shepherd. Shepherds are highly intelligent, sociable dogs and so confined kennel space is not the ideal environment for this very active breed.
SpeakUP, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles Animal Shelter Carson at 310.523.9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5020587. Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Miki a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
