Senior Chihuahua Surrendered to High Kill Shelter With Favorite Blanket, Cries Before She Sleeps

The Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California is not a place one would wish on their own enemy. Carson is a place where hopes and dreams are shattered like broken glass. The dogs and cats trapped inside Carson peer out of their kennel space, desperate to get the attention of shelter patrons who visit. The scene is heartbreaking, as it is sad because you get the feeling that no matter what dog you save, hundreds languish behind awaiting an uncertain future.

For one dog named Geordie, Carson is her new reality. After 10 years of loyalty and devotion to her owner, she was mercilessly dumped at Carson because she was “simply too old.” Geordie, a hairless, Mexican Chihuahua was devastated by the betrayal. According to my source, after her intake was complete, the sad pup let out a sigh, tucked herself into his favorite blanket, and began crying quietly to herself. Sad indeed.

A Petharbor listing for Geordie reads,

“I am described as a female, brown and white Mexican Hairless and Chihuahua – Smooth Coated.”

SpeakUp, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Geordie a new home.
