After His Owner Died, Not One Family Member Wants To Adopt This Pup Living in Shelter

In Bear, Delaware, when Sebastian the chihuahua’s owner died, not one family came to his defense to give him the care he needed. Instead, family member’s visited the descendants home not to console the small pup, but to search for valuables they could keep and call their own.

As for Sebastian, a cold-hearted member of his extended family picked him up and shooed him away off into a nearby wooded area, discarding him like the trash they left in their wake after the looting spree in his owners home was over.

A cold and hungry Sebastian spent close to a week languishing in forest like conditions, braving the cold, while dodging snakes and birds of prey. Thanks to a neighbor who had noticed he had gone missing, Cecil County Animal Services assembled a search and rescue party, in what they thought would be a vain attempt to find the tiny, 5-year-old chihuahua.

By some miracle, they were, in fact, able to find him. In coordination with the rescue organization Renee’s Rescues, Inc., Cecil County Animal Services was able to safely place Sebastian in their custody so that he could receive the medical care, and food he desperately needed.

A representative with Renee’s Rescues, Inc., took to their Facebook page and wrote:

“He was finally caught. Look at his nails! Despite this, he is very friendly with shelter staff and just wants love. He is currently at the shelter and heartworm positive. We couldn’t say no. I’m seeking a foster ‘PAWrent’ near Bear, Delaware willing to give Sebastian a safe haven.”

Thankfully, Sebastian is recovering and is presently being placed up for adoption at Renee’s Rescues, Inc. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the second chance he deserves please visit this link.
