5-Year-Old Chihuahua Surrendered To Kill Shelter With Favorite Blanket, Crying In Fear All Day
When you first meet Clover, a 5-year-old Chihuahua locked away inside of kennel space at the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, you get the sense that something is off.
Sure, most dogs trapped in the high-kill facility don’t always have the most jovial attitudes, especially when you consider that Carson is like a prison for dogs. However, in spite of their glib prospects, most dogs at Carson are quick to greet you with excitement as soon as you approach their cages.
Not Clover. As soon as I read her back story I began to see why. Clover had just about had it emotionally and physically by an awful human who treated her very badly all her life. After injuring her leg by “mistake,” her heartless owner couldn’t afford to pay for her medical treatment any longer, and so he mercilessly dumped her at Carson with all her toys and her favorite blanket.
Clover, who is just too sad, and in too much pain to greet patrons to the shelter anymore, has given up all hope. Before the “lights out” period in the shelter, a subtle, gentle sob could be heard coming from her kennel space, right before she lays her head to sleep on her favorite blanket.
Fidonation, we can change that. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Carson Animal Shelter at 310.523.9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5030681.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Clover a home. We have done it many times before and can certainly do it again.
