Heartless Owner Surrenders Young Shepherd To Kill Shelter Because He “Couldn’t Deal With Him Anymore”
When you call out Baron’s name and accompany that with a whistle, he will walk up to you, sit, and extend a paw as a sign of friendship. The highly obedient, respectful pup with manners most dog owners might envy, is out of place at the Harbor Animal Care Center in San Pedro, California, a kill shelter where dreams often turn into nightmares for the animals living in the facility.
One day, Baron’s owner didn’t want him anymore. And so in a stunning betrayal, he dumped him off at a kill shelter, of all places so he could be “someone else’s problem” an anonymous shelter staff member told me. As if this wasn’t bad enough, my source told me exclusively that as Baron underwent his intake, his owner didn’t give a definitive reason for why he was surrendering the pup, only saying “I couldn’t deal with him anymore,” before storming off. Sad indeed.
A Pet Harbor listing for Baron reads,
SpeakUP! a cage is no place for a German shepherd to be, especially when you consider how intelligent and high energy the breed is. Baron is no exception to this rule. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home he rightfully deserves please contact the Los Angeles Animal Services – Harbor Shelter at (888) 452-7381 and reference the shelter ID #A1673339.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Baron a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
