Adorable Puppy Dumped at Kill Shelter With Her Favorite Blanket, Wondering What She Did Wrong
At the high kill Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS) in Miami, Florida, dogs come and enter the facility at a staggering rate that is almost too cumbersome to keep up with. Sadly, most dogs who enter the facility, never make it out, as the city-funded, cash-strapped facility grapples with overcrowding. That means that dogs are given just weeks, and sometimes even just days to find new homes or fosters before they are “humanely euthanized” as a form of “population control.”
For one young puppy named Suede, she is wondering what on earth she did wrong to deserve a trip to the MDAS. One hint that shelter workers discovered after a routine medical exam after her intake, was that she was sick with the deadly parvo virus. Thankfully, doctors were able to catch the illness in time, and Suede is improving day by day thanks to treatment and medication.
Suede, unfortunately, isn’t out of the woods completely because after all, she is still trapped in a facility where her life quite literally hangs in the balance. The confused pup is struggling to put on a brave front amidst the chaos, noise, and confusion at the MDAS. All this poor puppy has to comfort her through this very difficult time is her favorite pink and purple mesh blanket that keeps her warm from the cold concrete slab in her kennel.
SpeakUP, a shelter is no place for a precious pup that has her entire future ahead of her. If you or someone you know is interested in giving Suede the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101 and reference the shelter ID #A1844938.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Suede a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
