A Young American Pit-Bull Terrier Failed by His Family, Fights For His Life at High Kill Shelter

PUPPY ALERT! A young boy failed by his family, fights for his life – please SAVE ROCKY!

Rocky is just a baby. Barely a year old and failed by his family who never provided to him the structured routine and essential basic training he needs to be a Rock Star. He may be house and crate trained, and he may know a few commands, he may even be a superstar when left home alone, but what Rocky (and a lot of these bully breeds need) are calming exercises to help them to relax even in the face of distractions (like new people, noisy grabby children, and sometimes other dogs).

PLACE, DOWN STAY.... two commands that make a world of difference in a pup’s life. He also likes to be left alone while eating, and what is wrong with that? He has a sterling resume for one so young, so a bit more polishing would give him the big boy skills that will make him perfect! He doesn’t mind baths, is fond of being brushed, he enjoys playing fetch He also loves female dogs, though at barely a year and as yet unneutered, he thinks he is a Lothario in Doggy Playgroup at the shelter. To his credit, if the handlers reprimanded him for his amorous ways, he stopped.

Rocky is only inches from perfection, but he needs an experienced person who sees the enormous potential in this handsome youngster who the intake staff said was “Super Relaxed and Inviting” and who gave a jump up kiss to the Assessor during his SAFER. He got ALL COVETED 1’s across the board except on Toy (he wanted to keep it). There has to be someone who can make sure that Rocky doesn’t die on Wednesday before his life has even begun. Please PM our page if you are the one who can give him the gift of life….
