15 Year Old Senior Surrendered To Kill Shelter Because He Is “So Old,” Is Just Too Sad To Sit Up Anymore
Imagine giving close to a quarter of a century of nothing but love, and devotion to someone, only for them to betray you cold-heartedly in the end. Such was the case for a 15-year-old senior pup by the name of Carter. When Carter became sick recently, his owners decided that they had enough of the medical issues, that plagued the senior pups life.
Carter is losing his sight and strength, and so when he became slightly impaired and immobile, his heartless owners dumped him at the Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS), leaving him alone to find for himself. According to my source at the shelter, the reason they gave for the surrender was that Carter was “So old.” MDAS advocacy group Urgent Dogs Miami examined Carter at the shelter and were left heartbroken at the condition he was in. The group took to their Facebook page and wrote:
SpeakUP!, a kill shelter is no way for a senior pup to end the days of his life. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home he rightfully deserves, please contact the Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101 and reference the shelter ID #A1845043.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding this precious pup the home he deserves. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.

“Carter is 15 years old, BLIND and mostly immobile. He wouldn’t even come to one volunteer to have his pictures taken but he gently took treats from another volunteer. He’s shutting down. Listen to what he’s hearing. He’s got to be terrified.”
