Young Chihuahua Surrendered To Kill Shelter Wearing Her Favorite Sweater, Cries Before She Sleeps
Update in Comment Section..
When you first meet this young little Chihuahua with no name at the San Bernardino County Animal Shelter, there are a few things that come to mind. One, what owner in their right mind could give up such a beautiful precious puppy who is so obedient, well behaved, and adorable. Two, that little adorable sweater she is wearing, along with the plush doggie bed she was surrendered with meant that at some point in time, this pup had a good life.
The San Bernardino Animal Shelter (SBAS) is the picture of sadness. It is not a great place for dogs to be, let alone humans. It breaks your heart to walk into the place and hear the desperation in the voices of the dogs barking, all fighting each other to be heard. If we could all understand dog speak, they might be saying “let me out of here, please. It’s not my turn to die!” The cash-strapped, city-funded shelter is grappling with overcrowding every day. And so that means that dogs are given weeks, sometimes just days to find forever families before they are brought to the back and placed on death row. Sad indeed.
For this little Chihuahua, she knows the stakes are all too real, and so before she sleeps at night, she tucks herself into the fetal position and sobs into her pillow wondering what she did to deserve this punishment. Just a few short months ago, she was out playing in a field, enjoying her toys and treats. Now, she makes a stripped down, sterile looking cage her new home.
Fidonation, we can change that. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the second chance she deserves, please contact the SBAC at (909) 384-1304 and reference the shelter ID #A500.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closing to finding this puppy a home.
