Adorable 10-months Old Terrier Who Became Shelter Staff Favorite, BUT Placed on Death Row
When you first meet Theodore, he will steal your heart faster a gazelle gliding across the Serengeti. Theodore is friendly, kind, loving, and usually, greets patrons to his kennel space with a paw. It simply makes no sense why his owner would surrender him to a high kill facility like the Carson Animal Shelter, in Gardena, California.
Carson is a place devoid of hope, love, and a foreseeable future. Dogs are given just weeks, and sometimes even just a few days to find homes before the worst happens: euthanasia. Carson, a facility grappling with overcrowding, is struggling to maintain population control. And so more often than not, tough decisions have to be made to free up “valuable kennel space.”
For Theodore, who also goes by “Teddy,” his marching orders came. Teddy was moved from his kennel space, according to my source at the shelter who wished to remain anonymous, and placed in a back room colloquially known in shelter parlance as “Death Row.”
Shelter staff, who say Teddy has become one of their favorites are heartbroken. However, the rules are the rules and unless someone can step up in a major way to free this precious soul, Teddy might just become another statistic at Carson like so many who went before him.
