2-year Old Shepherd Mercilessly Dumped At High Kill Shelter, Too Sad To Lift Up His Head Anymore
When you meet SAMMY, the first thing he does is give you a paw, and a smile that could quite literally light up an entire room. However, you notice something very off, as soon as you walk away. That’s because the 2-year-old pup knows that he isn’t leaving the shelter with you, and so its back to the corner in the kennel, where he awaits the next patron who might take a chance on him.
unnamed pup is presently cutting his teeth inside the Carson Shelter, Gardena, California, a place volunteers who spoke on condition of anonymity described to me as a “prison for dogs.” Like other animals trapped inside the high-kill facility, SAMMY is on a time constraint. That means he has just a few weeks, if not days to find a forever family before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.
A Petharbor listing for unnamed pup reads,
According to my source at the shelter, defeat, after defeat has taken a toll on SAMMY emotionally. Sadly, he has given up, and when patrons visit his kennel space today, he is just too sad to lift up his head anymore to try and make an impression.
SpeakUp, a kill shelter is no place for a dog like SAMMY to live his life to the fullest. If you or someone you know is interested in giving him the forever family he rightfully deserves, please contact the Carson Shelter, Gardena, California at 310.523.9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5032884.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding SAMMY a home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
