Terrified 2-Year-Old Chihuahua Dumped at Kill Shelter, Openly Wept As His Owner Walked Away

Visiting the Carson Animal Shelter is a profound life altering experience one would soon never forget in their lifetime. The Gardena, California facility is quite literally a dumping ground for dogs. The cash-strapped, city-funded shelter grapples wth overcrowding and so as Carson calls it “population control measures” need to be carried out on a daily basis to free up valuable kennel space. In other words, dogs are given just a few weeks, and sometimes even just days to find forever families before they become just another sad statistic of the dogs who didn’t make it out.

For one terrified, 2-year-old chihuahua named Coby, the struggle is real. After being dumped at Carson by a heartless owner who stripped him of his collar and toys, according to my sources at the shelter, he abruptly walked away. Coby, shocked by the stunning betrayal of a man he devoted all the loyalty into the world to, openly wept as his owner walked away.

A Petharbor listing for Coby reads,

“Hi. My name is Coby and I am a 2-year old male that has been neutered. I have been at the shelter since 1/21/2017 and need your help before it is too late.”

SpeakUP! kennel space is no place for a young pup like Coby to spend his days weeping into a cold concrete slab. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the home he deserves, please contact the Carson Animal Shelter at 310.523.9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5014621.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding this pup a forever family. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
