Young Shepherd Brought To Shelter and Was Promised Her Family Would Return; It Never Happened
Imagine being betrayed by a family you gave your life, love, and devotion to you if you will. Take yourself to a point in your life where you trusted someone and loved them with all your heart, only to be hurt in the end. For a 1-year-old German shepherd named Ginger, she could tell you everything you need to know about the pain of a stunning betrayal.
Ginger was brought to the high kill Carson Animal Shelter after her family brought her in and told a shelter staffer to “wait one moment,” and that “they would be back.” Instead, they left Ginger all alone at the shelter not even having the courage to fill out a simple intake form and reason for surrender. This heartbreaking indeed.
Ginger somehow injured her left leg in what shelter staff says was in an incident involving another dog outside of the shelter, and so she walks with a small limp. Medical care at the city-funded, cash-strapped Carson Animal Shelter is sparse, and so staff isn’t one-hundred percent sure if her leg is broken or not.
A Petharbor listing for Ginger reads,
Ginger is described as sweet, loving and a very sociable dog who gets along with other pets. Ginger deserves a second lease on a life that just started. We all know that shepherds don’t do too well in confined kennel space. They are highly intelligent, highly sociable dogs, and so not being able to go outside often is crushing Ginger’s soul. If you or someone you know is interested in giving her the forever home she deserves, please contact the please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566.
